In the Gospel of John 15:9-17, Jesus calls us to “Love one another”.
To love one another is not a platitude but a prescription, not a counsel but a command. When we are selfish and refuse to love, we build a wall around ourselves and condemn ourselves to a winter of loneliness and bitterness. But when we love and care, the wall falls down and we experience a springtime of joy and peace.
Let us allow the Holy Spirit which has been “poured” into us
(Acts 10:45) to fan the flame of love into a furnace.

Society of St Vincent De Paul, Sandwich making takes place on 5th May after the 09h30 and 17h00 Sunday Masses. Food parcel packing will take place on 11th May from 09h00. The annual winter Blanket Drive has started, please support this charitable initiative.

Prayer for Elections
Lord, we the people of South Africa and all who live here, thank and praise you for your inexhaustible love and the graces of healing and peace you continually offer to us as people.
As South Africa prepares for the elections on May 29, send us your Holy Spirit to form the consciences of the voters according to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, so that leaders may be elected who aspire for the common good of all people, and have the fear of the Lord in their hearts.
Mary, Mother of Peace, we pray for peace in our world; make us peacemakers.
