​Loving Father,
You have gathered us as
a parish family and made us responsible for one another. Grant us the courage to look out for each other.
Remove all gossip and resentment from our hearts. Help us to speak the truth in love and to build each other up, knowing that wherever
two or three are gathered Jesus is there in our midst.
Amen.
This Sunday’s readings remind us that being part of a Christian community means looking out for one another. In Matthew 18:15-20, Jesus gives us clear instructions on how to handle conflict- not through gossip or cancellation, but through direct, loving, and private conversation. As St. Paul reminds us, our only debt to one another is love. True love does not look the other way when a brother or sister is straying; it pulls them closer. Let us pray for the courage to speak the truth in love and the humility to listen when God speaks to us through others.
