On this Sixth Sunday of Easter, Jesus gives us His commandments: “Love one another as I have loved you.” Today, as we celebrate Mother’s Day, we see this Gospel reflected in the lives of mothers and all women who love with patience, sacrifice, and faithfulness. Their daily care and quiet generosity reveal something of God’s own love for His people. Jesus reminds us that true love bears lasting fruit. Many of us first learned faith, prayer, kindness, and compassion through the example of our mothers and grandmothers. Today we thank God for them and pray that, through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, all mothers may be blessed with joy, strength, and peace.
