Prayer for Forgiveness
Lord Jesus,
thank you for the mercy
you show us each day.
Heal the places in our hearts
that carry hurt, give us the
courage to forgive, and the
grace to begin again.
May your mercy bring peace
to our hearts and hope to
our relationships.
Help us to be instruments of
your love and forgiveness.
Amen.
In today’s Gospel, Peter asks Jesus how often he must forgive. Jesus responds: “Not seven times, but seventy-seven times.”
Forgiveness reminds us that no hurt has to have the final word. With God’s grace, hearts can be healed, relationships can be renewed, and we can always begin again. Just as God never tires of showing us mercy, we are invited to share the same mercy with others.
May we trust in God’s grace, let go of resentment, and become signs of His love, mercy and hope.
