What is Children’s Liturgy?
Children often find the Mass tedious and difficult to follow.
The aim of Children’s Liturgy is to educate the child and to help them understand the Mass proceedings in a simple manner so that it becomes an enjoyable experience. All readings, prayers and songs are aimed at children, so they will understand and participate in open discussion.
Children are taught to have a full appreciation of the various prayers, gestures and symbolic actions of the Mass as decided at the Second Vatican Council. Children are separated from parents at the beginning of Mass in order to teach and give them a fuller understanding of the proceedings.
Liturgy classes are conducted at the beginning of 09:30 mass until the offertory and follow the Catechism calendar. Training is available by attending liturgy classes and we provide an easy to follow guide.
